Summary
Technical Art Supervisor
Do a little bit of everything. Most interested in pipeline development, implementation / optimisation of realtime graphics, and engine side of art development.
When not doing techy things, I'm usually trying to sneak time into doing environment work.
Never do the same thing every week. Always something else to learn and master. I try to focus on developing art tools and overcoming pipeline challenges, but it's easy to be distracted when you have all the toys to play with for your job.
(Portfolio is entirely personal/independent work. It's hard to fill an art station when you're a supporting role in a team)
Being a tech artist is like being a goalkeeper in football, you never get the glory of being the one who scored, but everyone will be way more grateful you're there to save a penalty at the last minute.
